Ricardo, who's optimism is contagious and who inspires everyone around him through his relentless pursuit of his dream, is 24 years old and has been blind
since birth. His musical journey began at age 4 when his family gave him his first keyboard. In grade school and junior high Ricardo performed in numerous
school musicals and on weekends he sang and played the piano at local cafes to earn extra spending money.

In high school he entered and won various state talent competitions which helped him to earn a four year music scholarship at Northern Arizona University.
With his university chorale he toured several European countries, also performing at the famous Riverside Auditorium in New York City.

Ricardo, who is trained in classical music, is a tenor and sings in German, Italian, Spanish and English. Of Mexican ancestry, he developed a love for Mariachi
music at a tender age. In recent years he was invited to perform in prestigious mariachi concerts in Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Los Angeles where he was accompanied
by legendary musical ensembles such as Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán, Mariachi Sol de México de José Hernández and Mariachi Los Camperos de Nati Cano.

Ricardo’s first record, directed and arranged by maestro José Hernández is a collection of classics written by Mexico’s greatest composers. The title track,
El México Que Ve Mi Corazón (The Mexico That I See With My Heart,) was written especially for Ricardo by his father. The song tells the story of a young
man born in the United States who has embraced his heritage through his love for Mexico’s traditions, music, and poetry; and who has only seen the beauty
of this land with his heart..
